The song says, 'The children are our future,' and that is certainly a true saying. The Word of the Lord tells us to, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6) But sadly most parents don't do anything of the sort. They have their kids and pretty much leave them on auto-pilot. They expect the governmental schools, Sunday schools and street contacts to actually teach their children. Is it any wonder that families are vanishing? If they are yours, Biblically, it's your job to teach them, train them and to make sure they hear about the Lord Jesus Christ.

No pastor, church or school won't help you raise your children, no, everyone would like to help. But, it really should be a hands-on, do-it-yourself program. The most important one for parents to follow. If you need help, ask for it and certainly, pray for it, too.

Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Deuteronomy 4:9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

Deuteronomy 11:19
Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Include spiritual talks, Bible reading and even church-going in your daily life, and live what you preach at home. Don't make church a game. That is, don't act churchy on Sunday but devlish the rest of the week. Make it real, and your children will, too.

This ministry has always included a place for reaching children and will continue to do so. In Mexico, many families are dirt poor, fathers are missing and moms are just plain over-worked. When dads work all week for five dollars a day, when they get paid and buy their smokes and drinks, there isn't much left for home. Sad but true.

All children deserve a good home, with a father and a mother doing their best to provide for all their needs, physical, mental, medical, educational and spiritual. Do what the Bible asks you do, train up your children, it's your responsibility. Don't leave it to someone else.
